The house has a spacious wrap around deck with seating where you can enjoy your favorite beverage while taking in the mountain scenery. There are two sections that provide cover from rain or snow. Feel free to leave your skis and/or snowboards on the gated deck at your own risk. Massanutten is a very safe, gated community but this will be your decision.
We do not allow outdoor fires on the property, open flames are prohibited on the mountain.
No smoking or vaping inside the house. Violating this rule will result in you being asked to leave and forfeiting your rental payment, no refunds will be given. Smoking/Vaping outside is acceptable, we just ask that you please take note that you are surrounded by woods and that you do not discard any butts on the property grounds.
We do not allow pets. Violating this rule will result in you being asked to leave and forfeiting your rental payment, no refunds will be given. Additional Fees may be applied if this house rule is violated.
Massanutten has an occupancy rule and Green Mountain Lodge cannot exceed 8 guests. We also have a strict no-party rule. All guests are required to be registered in advance on the booking website. Massanutten has specific rules regarding noise. Violating this rule will result in immediate eviction with no refund. Please use the "be respectful" rule.
The minimum age to rent is 25. All guests must be registered in advance. Exceeding the number of registered guests is considered a violation and you may be subject to a fee and/or asked to leave and forfeit your rental payment. No refunds will be given.
The resort has strict rules regarding trash removal. Our neighbors are not only the other humans that you see walking and driving around, but are also the furry friends like deer, bears, and other wildlife you will find enjoying the mountain as well. It is REQUIRED that NO GARBAGE/TRASH IS EVER LEFT OUTDOORS. The resort provides community dumpsters for household waste and is located just 2 miles up Massanutten Drive. We simply ask that you tightly secure your garbage and take it up to the dumpsters during (if necessary) and at the end of your stay. If you do not remove trash, you will be subject to a $25 fee.
Directions to Community Trash Area
Address - 4003 Peak Dr, McGaheysville, VA 22846
Take Passage Lane to Lanier Lane and turn right at stop sign. At the next stop sign turn left onto Massanutten Drive. Travel approximately 1.9 miles and turn right onto Peak Drive. The Community Trash Area will be approximately .25 mile on your left. Signs are clearly posted. Pull into parking lot and head towards the back where you will find the community dumpsters.
Thank you for abiding by the resort trash rules!
Our driveway can accomodate 4 vehicles comfortably. Additional parking can be found on the street. Please be mindful not to block any driveways or the visibility of the intersection. All 4 wheels must be off the roadway when vehicle is parked. Massanutten prohibits vehicles larger than 3/4 ton from being parked on any lots. It also prohibits buses, campers, trailers or mobile homes from being parked on any lot.
Per Massanutten Resort, "you should not cause, or permit to be caused, noise which is audible in common areas or on property owned by others and is unreasonable because of its volume, duration, or time of day." Noise which is unreasonable either in its volume or, in its duration, or in the time of day, is prohibited. Since "volume" is subjective, all tenants will be given a reasonable opportunity to remedy the situation when given a warning. Essentially, be respectful to our neighbors and use your best judgment. If an incident occurs, you are at risk of being asked to leave and forfeiting your rental payment.
We ask that you keep the thermostat no lower than 68 in the summer and no higher than 75 in the winter and keep the fan set to "Auto". Please never turn the HVAC system off, just adjust the temperate per the posted rules. The house has 5 ceiling fans located throughout the property for your convenience. Please see the thermostat rules posted next to the thermostat outside of the hall bathroom.
Absolutely no hunting on property
Our kitchen sink does not have a garbage disposal, please dispose of excess food in the trash can. No food is allowed down the sink. We have provided a kitchen sink strainer to help catch any food items while cleaning dishes. Thank you!
During the WINTER months, you will find a snow shovel outside on the gated deck. If a winter storm occurs prior to your visit we will plan for the snow removal (from the driveway, walkway, and deck) as best we can. However if it snows during your stay we unfortunately do not provide additional snow removal. We ask that you use caution when walking around the property as well as the driveway.
During the Spring/Summer/Fall months you can expect to see insects and leaves falling. Our private lot has its fair share of trees and leaves do fall on the driveway and deck occasionally. We try our very best to remove any debris prior to a guest's arrival but Mother Nature sometimes has a mind of her own. There is a broom and dust pan available in the laundry closet for your use if needed.
This home is in a private residential neighborhood and is part of the Massanutten Property Owners Association (MPOA), governed by its rules and regulations. There are rental homes in all MPOA neighborhoods, but people also live here. Your nearby neighbors may be full-time residents, including families with children, retirees, second-home owners and other guests enjoying their retreat.
No open containers on roads or in common areas.
